What is Display Logic?
Display Logic allows you to conditionally show questions based on a respondent’s previous answers. This ensures that each respondent only sees relevant questions, helping to reduce drop-off and improve data quality.
For example, if a survey asks whether respondents use a product, Display Logic ensures that only relevant follow-up questions are shown based on their answer. Users who select "Yes" might be asked about product features, while those who select "No" could be prompted with questions about reasons for not using the product.
Display Logic shows questions based on prior answers but doesn't affect the overall survey order or flow.
Setting Display Logic for a Question
While creating or editing a survey, hover over the question you want to apply logic to, and select Add Rules in the bottom-right corner.
Choose the question whose answer will control the visibility of the current question.
TIP: Only questions above the current one can be used in display logic rules.
Select your logic condition:
Choose the operator (e.g., equals, any of, greater than) to define when the question should be displayed.
Choose the answer value(s) that will trigger the display of this question.
TIP: When using a question for a display rule, mark it as required. For instance, if a question is shown only when Question 3 is Option A, ensure the respondent answers Question 3 before proceeding.
Select Save to apply the rule.
If multiple rules are added, you can switch between any (OR logic) or all (AND logic) to control how the conditions are applied.

Limitations
Display Logic cannot be applied to the following question types:
Clearbit or fixed classification questions (auto-filled data)
Reference volunteer questions
Named attribution questions
