Make Video Assets Searchable with a Transcript

You can now make any video asset fully searchable in UserEvidence by pasting a plain-text transcript — turning spoken content into findable, indexed text.

What's New

Video assets in UserEvidence now include a transcript field. When you paste a plain-text transcript into that field, UserEvidence indexes the spoken content alongside the asset's title and description, making the full contents of your video searchable across the platform, Slack, and Evi.

How to Use It

  1. Open any video asset in the asset editor.

  2. Locate the Transcript field.

  3. Paste your plain-text transcript — from Zoom, Otter.ai, your video host, or any other source. Transcripts must be pasted as plain text. SRT and VTT file uploads are not supported at this time.

  4. Save the asset. The transcript content is now indexed and searchable.

Note: UserEvidence indexes transcripts you provide — it does not automatically generate them. You'll need to export or copy the transcript from your recording tool first.
