Passthrough Respondents

Passthrough Respondents let your known contacts skip the extra form step and go straight into a survey. This is especially useful for sending surveys in transactional or automated workflows using Salesforce, HubSpot, or other CRM platforms.

How It Works

  1. Access the Surveys tab and select the survey you're working on

  2. Open the Share Settings tab in your survey and scroll to find the share link you want to use

  3. Click Add passthrough params to expand the parameter options. Email, First Name, and Last Name are always enabled. Toggle on any optional parameters, such as Title, Company Name, External Source, or External ID.

  4. Replace placeholders with your CRM merge tags. Swap each <PLACEHOLDER> for the appropriate tag syntax for your platform (see parameter reference below)

  5. Send via your CRM by adding the final URL to your email template or campaign. Recipients click the link and go directly into the survey, with no form required.
