How to Create an Email Template for Notifications

  1. In the left sidebar, click on Communications.

  2. Click Templates.

  3. Click Create Template, then select Email.

  4. Choose the Event Type for this template.

  5. Enter a Title for the template and a Subject Line. You can use all dynamic data from the Variables tab on the left, except for footer information (unsubscribe link, privacy policy, and address).

  6. Dynamic data can be added using Merge Tags or by copying and pasting from the Variables sidebar.

  7. Add in a Default Footer to have UserEvidence Advocacy handle all unsubscribe and automatically populate the footer.

  8. You can also access the HTML editor by using the dropdown in the top-right corner next to Save Template.

  9. When placing an image, a default placeholder image will appear. This will get replaced with the primary image for this event, such as the mission image for "New Mission Created". You can also overwrite the image to have it be a custom URL or upload.

  10. To add a button with a redirect to a dynamic properly, like the mission link, copy and paste the dynamic variable in the URL of the Button.

  11. Click Save Template in the top-right corner to save your changes and exit.

Setting Up a Live Email Template

  1. In the left sidebar, click on Communications.

  2. Click Templates.

  3. Find the template you want to activate, hover over it, and click Set Live in the bottom-left corner.

  4. Enable the Preview Before Sending toggle, then click Set as Live Template.

  5. Emails awaiting approval will appear like this. To approve an email, click Approve.

Creating Live Templates for Zapier Integrations

These templates allow Zapier workflows to send customized emails using the content you define here.

  1. In the left sidebar, click on Communications.

  2. Click Templates.

  3. Click Create Template, then select Zapier.

  4. Choose the Event Type for this template.

  5. Click the Enter your template content here field.

    • This field is an extra subject/body sent to Zapier.

    • You can construct the body here and access it as body in Zapier, or type null and create the payload in Zapier itself.

  6. Click Save Template.

  7. In the Templates menu, select the template you just created and click Set Live.
