Prerequisites

To get started, install the UserEvidence app in Seismic.

  1. Log in to Seismic as a tenant admin.

  2. If you haven’t already installed the UserEvidence app, go to the installation page and follow the prompts. Once installed, you’ll see UserEvidence listed under Settings → System Settings → My Apps.

Note: Identify the Seismic account that will serve as the App Bot User. No action is required in Seismic at this step—you are simply selecting which account will be used later in the authentication setup.

Authentication Setup

  1. In UserEvidence, open the Integrations page by clicking your initials in the top-right corner and selecting Integrations from the dropdown menu.

  2. Go to the Seismic tab, enter the email address of the Seismic user you selected as the App Bot User, and then click Register Email.

  3. In Seismic, go to Settings → System Settings → My Apps. Open the menu for the UserEvidence app and click Enable App. When prompted, choose the App Bot User and click Allow.

  4. Return to the UserEvidence Integrations page and click Check Status. This should advance you to the Ready to Complete OAuth step.

  5. Click Complete Connection to finalize the integration.

Sending Assets to Seismic

You can send assets to Seismic in several ways:

  1. Automatic Sync → Auto-sync new assets that meet your defined criteria

  2. Bulk Actions → Auto-sync all existing assets that meet your defined criteria

  3. Manual Send (Single Asset) → Sync an asset directly from its page

Automatic Sync & Bulk Actions

With Automatic Sync, new assets that meet your criteria are synced automatically as they are created. Bulk Actions lets you sync all existing assets that meet the same criteria at once. Both methods use the same ruleset, which you can update at any time. To define or modify your ruleset:

  1. Open the Integrations page by clicking your initials in the top-right corner and selecting Integrations from the dropdown menu.

  2. Go to the Seismic tab and scroll to Seismic Connection Status to select the default Teamsite and Folder where assets should be sent. This can be changed at any time.

  3. Optional: Choose how testimonials appear in Seismic by using a custom theme. In Automatic Asset Sync Settings, select Custom Theme from the Theme dropdown. A second dropdown will show your existing custom themes. Selecting one ensures all synced testimonials, whether automatic or manual, appear in that theme within Seismic.

  4. Define the ruleset that determines when assets should be sent to Seismic:

    • When set to public – requires an asset to be public

    • When tag is added – select a tag(s)

    • When classifier is added – select a specific classifier(s), classifier value(s)

  5. To finish configuring automatic syncing, simply check the boxes next to the relevant tags and/or classifiers. For Bulk Actions, once you’re ready to sync existing assets, select Sync All.

Previously synced assets are skipped (to re-sync an asset, edit it or use manual sync).

Manual Asset Sync

Send a single asset to your Seismic library.

  1. Access the Assets tab at the top of the screen.

  2. Select your target asset.

  3. Click Actions in the top-right corner of the asset view and choose Send to Seismic from the dropdown.

Note: All assets are synced to a designated Teamsite and Folder, which are configured on the Integrations page within UserEvidence.

Metadata in Seismic

UserEvidence sends key metadata to Seismic for every asset that syncs through the integration. This includes metadata from the asset itself as well as any associated Classifiers and tags in UserEvidence.

Once synced, this information appears in the Content Properties panel on the right-hand side of the asset view in Seismic. You can use these properties to:

  • Filter and refine content while browsing within Seismic libraries

  • Power automation through Seismic features such as Dynamic Folders

This allows you to organize and deliver UserEvidence content in Seismic using the same structure and context you’ve built within your UserEvidence account.

Updating and Deleting Assets

When an asset is updated in UserEvidence, a re-sync automatically updates the corresponding file in Seismic. After editing, a small toast message will appear indicating that the asset update is queued.

When an asset is deleted in UserEvidence, it will also be removed from Seismic. Before deletion, a confirmation modal will appear to inform you that the asset is synced with Seismic.
