Link Imported Content to People

Testimonials imported via CSV are now automatically connected to the matching respondent record in your account. G2 reviews and imported file assets can also be linked to a person manually — so all your imported content shows up under the right advocate.

What's New

Previously, imported content had no automatic connection to the respondents in your account, making advocate attribution a manual cleanup task. Now, CSV testimonial imports link to existing person records automatically by email, and a consistent person selector on every asset makes manual linking straightforward for G2 reviews and imported files.


How to Use It

CSV Testimonial Import (Automatic)

Include an email column in your CSV. On import, any row whose email matches an existing respondent in your account is automatically linked to that person — no extra steps or UI changes to the existing import flow.

If a row's email doesn't match an existing person, the testimonial still imports successfully. You can link it manually later using the person selector on the asset.

Note: Email matching is case-insensitive, so variations like [email protected] and [email protected] will match correctly.


G2 Reviews (Manual)

G2 reviews import as they do today with our integration. Because G2 doesn't pass through the reviewer's email, automatic linking isn't possible. To link a G2 review to a person, open the imported review and use the person selector to connect it to the right record.

Imported Files (Manual)

After importing a file — whether individually or as part of a bulk upload — open the asset and use the person selector to link it to a person record.


Good to Know

  • Person records are never created during import. Only content whose email matches an existing person in your account can be linked — automatically or manually. If the person doesn't exist yet, they'll need to be added to your account before linking is possible.

  • CSV rows without an email column won't auto-link. The testimonial still imports successfully — you can link it manually afterward using the person selector.

  • G2 reviews cannot be auto-linked. Because G2 doesn't pass reviewer emails through the integration, manual linking via the person selector is the only available path.
